INTRODUCTION

AWRIS is initiated by the ASEAN Consortium for Innovation and Research (ACIR+) and organized by Vietnam Association of Faculties-Institutes-Schools-Universities of ICT (FISU) and Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication (VKU) in 2025. AWRIS workshop marks a significant milestone in strengthening future collaboration and innovation of excellent undergraduate students from prestigious universities within the ASEAN region and others. AWRIS symbolizes a commitment to nurturing young talents and advancing knowledge across borders. The workshop aims are to not only showcase the ingenuity of students but also to create a platform for networking and sharing ideas among young talents.

AWRIS 2024 achieved great success with 10 excellent research projects from prestigious universities in France, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. This year, AWRIS is joint collocated with the 1st ACIR+ Program Incubation of Start-Ups and Innovation (APISI) competition. By inspiring excellent undergraduate students from ASEAN and other countries to participate, AWRIS seeks to inspire a new generation of scholars and innovators. AWRIS 2025 will encompass various fields of study, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary research for ACIR+ society. Participants can anticipate engaging in rigorous intellectual exchanges, receiving constructive feedback, and gaining valuable insights from esteemed committees and judges. Ultimately, AWRIS 2025 and APISI 2025 endeavor to contribute to the collective advancement of knowledge and innovation within ACIR+, paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable future.

Guidelines:

• Each university in ASEAN+ could nominate one excellent undergraduate student research project for participation and one supervisor (optional) to join AWRIS committee.

• The nominated project would be submitted as a technical paper in English for 6-9 pages to introduce the main idea, motivation, innovative technological approach, and experiment results for tackling one of the emerging problems in ICT Applications, Digital Economy, Social Problems, Sustainable Development.

• The papers will be selected and optionally published in AWRIS Proceedings and receiving AWRIS Certification

16-17/08/2025: Tentative Program of AWRIS Workshop at VKU

Day 1 (16/08/2025):

13h00-16h00: Free attendance of the 1st ACIR+ Program Incubation of Start-Ups and Innovation (APISI)

16h00-16h30: Award ceremony for all teams of AWRIS.

17h00-23h00: Team building and Danang City Tour

Day 2 (17/08/2025): Exchange & Exploration

08h00-10h00: Cultural exchange activities

10h00-17h00: Local Culture Exploration (Hoi An tour)

NOTE:

1. The registration fee for all activities is $100/participant

2. The total value of the prizes is $400

Support and Benefits

VKU provides dormitory accommodation and local transportatoin for all participants;

VKU provides each team in ACIR travel sponsorship and registration fee for 01 participant, 50% fee for other members.
